उस पर चलता जा रहा हूँ।
खामोशी के सागर में,
इक सूरज सा ढलता जा रहा हूँ।
अब तेरी सोहबत पर
मैं अधिकार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…

वो तेरा जिक्र होते ही
मेरे चेहरे पर मुस्कान आ जाती थी।
हाँ, मेरा नाम सुनकर
तू भी तो शर्माती थी।
उन अनकही बातों का
अब इकरार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
“सब कुछ कह दूँगा उसे”
ये सोचकर जाता था।
बस इधर उधर की बातें करके
खाली हाथ लौट आता था।
आईने के सामने खड़े होकर
अब इज़हार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
वो तेरा नाम लेने का लहजा
पहले जैसा रहा नहीं।
दिल इतनी जोर से टूटता है
मुझसे किसी ने कहा नहीं।
अब दोस्त छेड़ें भी तो
हँसकर इंकार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
बस तू ही एक थी जिससे मैं
दिल से बातें करता था और दिल की बातें करता था
नींद को बाजू रखकर, नाम तेरे मैं
कई कई रातें करता था।
पर अब बातें करते वक़्त
वो दहलीज़ पार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
वो तुझपे कोई संकट हो तो
मैं कितना घबराता था।
वो तेरा दुख सुनकर,
मेरा मन भी भर आता था।
अब कहीं टकरा जाएँ तो,
अँखियाँ चार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
वो अकेलेपन के अंधेरों में
इस दीपक की ज्योति थी।
वो ना हो तो उसकी तस्वीर से
घंटों बातें होती थी।
अब छिप - छिपकर तस्वीरों में
उसे गिरफ्तार नहीं करता…
उसे गिरफ्तार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
हाँ तुम कुछ - कुछ भूल गई
और कुछ वादे टूट गए।
हाँ, संग - संग चले तो थे कुछ पल
पर आगे जाकर हाथ छूट गए।
पर अब दर्द को लिखकर मैं
दो दिल पर वार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…
मैं तुझसे प्यार नहीं करता…पर…
पर ऐसी कोई शाम नहीं जब
याद तुझे, तेरी यादों को
सौ - सौ बार नहीं करता….
